A blog about all kinds of vintage technology from simple mechanisms of the late 1800s through electronics and robotics of the 1980s. Many posts will be typecast and some will be off topic bits from everyday life. The blog will wander and meander with my quasi-evolving and ever changing interests.

On the bench...
A Remington Noiseless, on its way to functionality. Vacation time is a good thing.
Thanks! Can you believe it is with an iPhone? My blog has been stuck for lack of time and I am experimenting with shorter entries straight from the iOS app. I use the ProCamera app for shooting and editing.
Yeah, I have way too many tinkering projects in process that need to get done. The Remington is close. I would like to transfer the parts machine aluminum cover and ribbon assemblies. Every key runs smooth except for the unnecessary 1/4&1/2. The attachment to the desk is coming along slowly.
We're in a happy breathing space before the last semester of Senior year and many, many orchestra, theater, wind ensemble, track, and assemblies on top of work. My kid has picked a school and we're down to an honors program interview and scholarship applications on that front. The lack of scheduling stress has been a blessing, but all good things come to an end.
Nice close up photo.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year is nothing but good. Thanks!
DeleteAh, I am traveling but wish I had access to my workshop at home where I could spend some vacation hours tinkering. Happy New Year!
